It's only enticement to my future Patreon, where I'll put much more of this stuff. Sketches mostly will be much simplier on Instagram than this concept, "promotional" one.
Here you can see several stages of making the character and the story. The dragon, who didn't like to be embodiment of nature and magic, but rather joined some technocratic sect to bring civilization to "unrighteous" worlds of nature. I advisedly chose sketch with big heavy forehead - this creature isn't a primitive walking toothy-biter, but someone with big brain and small but nasty bite. This specifically taken dragon shouldn't be stupid monster, It should be like an alien reptiloid with elongated body. Among different designs of the visor mask, I chose "cunning and evil" one, as well as "dirty talking" shape of the mouth and also "technocratic" pallette. Since I used some "forest lizard" traits to show controversial nature of this character, brown color of scales would be even better, but with this shape of the head he'll look like a bear, so I favored grayish-blue. Finally I made the story, discarding boring "standing still" posture as well as fight scene in favor of drama and humor. Right in the process of conquest operation, beating some plant creatures, dragon is shouting at them, which is usual behavior for this crazy fanatic.
